BIOGRAPHY

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and have 8 years of nursing experience in the psychiatric field ranging from child and adult inpatient care to community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Boise State University and immediately started working as a psychiatric nurse in an inpatient hospital. While attending Graduate School through the University of South Alabama, I was the Nurse Manager in a community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment center.

My focus is on the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment, medication management and brief psychotherapeutic intervention for adult clients ages 18-65. I believe in creating an individualized plan of care that values client involvement, interprofessional collaboration and evidenced-based practice. My goal for my clients is to feel empowered to treat their illness through supportive education in a stigma free environment.

A client can expect their initial visit to include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determination of treatment goals and education about diagnosis and available treatment options. I have the pleasure of working alongside many skilled and experienced clinicians and am happy to collaborate and coordinate care with them when appropriate to the clients’ needs.

My office is handicapped accessible and includes a warm, welcoming staff to assist in any scheduling, insurance or billing questions my clients may have.
