Roberto Negron, MD
Roberto Negron, MD is one of the founding leaders of Sage Health Care and has dedicated more than three decades to advancing psychiatric care in Idaho and the surrounding region. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York in 1989 before completing both his adult psychiatry residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatric fellowship at the prestigious New York State Psychiatric Institute affiliated with Columbia University. His advanced training established a strong foundation in the treatment of complex psychiatric disorders across the lifespan.
Board certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr Negron has built a career focused on providing comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout his career, he had been recognized for combining evidence-based psychiatric treatment with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. His extensive clinical experience spans outpatient psychiatry, inpatient behavioral health services, and community mental health programs, allowing him to care for patients with a broad range of psychiatric needs.
As an owner of Sage Health Care, Dr Negron has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s mission and growth. Tamara Helfer, MD
Tamara Helfer, MD is a board-certified adult, child & adolescent psychiatrist whose career has focused on helping young people and families navigate complex mental health challenges. She completed medical school before pursuing both her adult psychiatric residency and child & adolescent psychiatric fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. Her specialized training prepared her to treat psychiatric conditions during some of the most critical stages of emotional and developmental growth.
Throughout her professional career, Dr Helfer has developed expertise in treating depression, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, psychotic illness, mood disorders, and other behavioral health conditions affecting children and adolescents. She is known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach to care and for working closely with families, schools, and healthcare teams to support long-term success for her patients. In addition to traditional psychiatric services, she has experience with innovative treatment modalities, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
As an owner of Sage Health Care, Dr Helfer contributes both clinical expertise and strategic leadership to the organization. Her commitment to expanding access to specialized child & adolescent psychiatric care has strengthened Sage Health Care’s ability to serve patients across Idaho. Through her work as a clinician, mentor, and healthcare leader, she continues to advocate for comprehensive mental health services that support children, adolescents, and their families.
Coire Weathers, MD
Coire Weathers, MD is a Boise native whose passion for psychiatric development through a strong connection to the local community he now serves. After graduating from The College of Idaho, he attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. He remained in Maryland to complete his psychiatric residency, gaining extensive experience in treating a wide variety of psychiatric conditions while training in diverse clinical settings.
A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr Weathers has maintained a particular interest in community psychiatry and the delivery of accessible behavioral healthcare. His professional career has focused on helping individuals managed mental illness through evidence-based treatment, medication management, and collaborative care. He has earned a reputation for thoughtful clinical decision making and a commitment to meeting patients where they are in their mental health journey.
As an owner of Sage Health Care, Dr Weathers helps guide the organization’s continued growth and commitment to high-quality psychiatric services. His understanding of the behavioral health needs of Idaho communities, combined with his dedication to patient centered care, has made him an important leader within the practice. KC Knudson DO MBA
KC Knudson, DO, MBA is a board-certified Adult, Child and Adolescent psychiatrist who brings a modern, developmental approach to behavioral healthcare. He earned is Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and subsequently completed both is adult psychiatric residency and Child & Adolescent psychiatric fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine. His advanced training equipped him to address psychiatric conditions across all stages of development.
Dr Knudson specializes in treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults, with particular interests in developmental disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and many more. His patient centered philosophy emphasizes collaboration, education, and individualized treatment planning to help patients and families achieve meaningful long term outcomes.
As one of the physician owners of Sage Health Care, Dr Knudson represents the next generation of psychiatric leadership within the organization. He combines clinical expertise with a commitment to innovation, quality improvement, and expanding access to specialized behavioral health services.
